IRB Barcelona is one of Europe's leading biomedical research centres, driving scientific projects, events, and outreach activities with international reach.
From Karmina, we developed the creative direction and visual system applied to different environments for IRB's Horizons of Biomedicine event, creating a coherent, contemporary graphic ecosystem adaptable to editorial, spatial, digital, and experiential media.

Unify visual communication To develop a coherent graphic system capable of adapting to multiple formats, spaces, and mediums while maintaining a solid and recognisable visual identity.
Modernising the visual experience Develop a contemporary creative direction aligned with IRB Barcelona's innovative and scientific positioning.
Improve system scalability To design flexible visual solutions that are easily applicable to editorial pieces, signage, displays, and institutional communication.
Enhance the event experience: Create an integrated visual experience capable of improving attendees' orientation, interaction and perception.
Ensure consistency across all touchpoints Ensure the correct implementation of the visual system in both physical and digital large-format environments.

The project was developed from an initial phase of analysis and review of previous materials, identifying opportunities for improvement and establishing a line of continuity with IRB Barcelona's corporate identity. From this strategic work, we defined a creative direction and a global visual system capable of coexisting in editorial, digital and experiential environments.
From Karmina, we developed the main key visual and its application in institutional pieces, editorial programme, signage, accreditation systems, large format supports, screens, scenographic spaces, and communication materials for the event.
The project also included the technical adaptation of materials and coordination with production, ensuring visual consistency and functionality at each touchpoint.
The creative direction developed by Karmina allowed for the articulation of a flexible, contemporary, and functional visual language, ready to adapt to different communication needs without losing consistency. The result was a solid graphic identity capable of reinforcing the institutional perception of IRB Barcelona and enhancing the visual experience of its events and communication environments.
