11 Years of Karmina: 11 Figures to Understand Our Journey

In May 2026, we will be celebrating our 11th anniversary. 11 years since Karmina was born in 2015. A project that started with great enthusiasm, limited resources, and a strong desire to prove that another way of doing communication, marketing, and digital was possible.

Since then, we have gone through different stages, business models, services, offices, and even names. We have evolved, reinvented ourselves several times, and learned to adapt to the changes in a sector that never stops moving. Taking advantage of this anniversary, we are sharing 11 figures that explain part of our history.

1. Over 6,328 invoiced companies

It's a bit of a tricky figure.

Include both agency clients and companies linked to training projects that we have developed through various brands, schools, and platforms over the years.

Currently, a large part of this activity is grouped under the Utopiq umbrella, where we drive specialised training projects, particularly in artificial intelligence, as well as initiatives like Social Campus and other training platforms.

However it is, looking back and seeing over 6,000 organisations we have worked with or collaborated with still feels incredible to us.

2. Eight different offices

Our history can also be explained through our addresses.

In Barcelona, we started at Jardinets de Gràcia. Afterwards, we passed through Sepúlveda 143, first in an office on the first floor and subsequently in another on the fourth. Later, we moved to Còrsega 371 and are currently at Aribau 171, 5th floor, apartment 2.

In Madrid, we have worked from different co-working spaces, including Spaces, until establishing our current office in Méndez Álvaro 9, next to Atocha, since 2026.

Each office has represented a distinct stage of growth.

3. 272 professionals have passed through Karmina

Including interns, 272 people have been part of the agency over these 11 years. More than 500 if we count freelance support.

Some were there for a few months, others continue to be part of the project, and many have ended up in significant positions at other companies and institutions.

Currently, we have over 50 professionals if we include our in-house team and the network of recurring collaborators we work with in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia or Palma.

4. Over 4,239 students trained

According to our records, we have trained approximately 4,239 people.

Nor is the figure 100% accurate, as it combines students from different courses, historical databases and records accumulated over the years. Some people did not attend, others repeated the course, and others enrolled in different activities.

Nonetheless, it serves to reflect a reality: training has become an increasingly important part of our project.

Curiously, between 2019 and 2024 we barely developed training initiatives. However, in 2024 we have strongly revived this line, with around 30 different training courses and groups of between 15 and 20 students on average.

And the feeling is that this has only just begun.

5. 86 active and repeat customers

We are currently working with 86 clients on a recurring basis, not including training projects.

Private companies, public institutions, social entities, startups, and large corporations are part of a diverse portfolio that allows us to keep learning every day.

Many of them have been trusting us for years, something we especially value in a sector where relationships tend to change quickly.

6. Access to 490 business assets on Meta

Our Meta Business Manager has had access to 490 different assets, including pages, ad accounts, pixels, and business profiles.

The most curious thing is that we still have access to many of them even though they haven't been clients for years.

We're taking this opportunity to make a friendly recommendation: periodically review who has access to your digital assets. We've even encountered public organisations that were still maintaining legacy permissions long after collaborations had ended.

We work in over nine languages

We currently manage projects and content in over nine languages.

Catalan, Castilian Spanish, Basque, Galician, English, French, Italian, Portuguese and German are part of the day-to-day of many projects.

Clients such as Aena, Planeta, Pans & Company and various public institutions have allowed us to develop multilingual capabilities that are now part of our DNA.

8. Two servers, 18 terabytes and millions of conversations

Over these 11 years, we have essentially maintained two major technological infrastructures: our CDmon and Microsoft environments.

Thanks to this, we preserve some curious facts:

  • 482,100 emails sent.
  • 18 terabytes of content stored.
  • Over 12,300,000 messages exchanged on Microsoft Teams.

Behind those figures lie thousands of meetings, proposals, campaigns, crises, launches and projects.

9. Over 32,163 coffees consumed

Since 2020, we have been working with Incapto, and this allows us to know a piece of information that probably explains a large part of our productivity.

Estimating the historical consumption of Barcelona and Madrid, along with the evolution of the workforce over the years, we calculate that we have consumed approximately 32,163 coffees.

The figure is approximate, but we like to think it reflects reality quite well.

Although, to be honest, we've also contributed quite a bit to the turnover of the cafes near our offices.

10. We manage conversations with around 28,000 users

We currently serve around 28,000 users through comments and private messages on social media.

The figure arises from customers connected to our management platforms, along with large customer service operations that we develop for organisations such as Aena or Planeta.

Behind this work is a team of about ten people specialised exclusively in digital support, moderation, and community management.

11. The mystery of the products received

There is a figure we haven't managed to calculate.

We don't know how many products have arrived at our offices during these 11 years.

Eggs, pharmaceuticals, toys, sweets, drinks, crisps, soaps, collectibles, merchandise and all sorts of samples have been filling shelves, cupboards and tables.

Customers as diverse as Bizak, Félix Solís, Arkopharma, Jelly Pills, Sapporo, Jabones Pardo, and even brands linked to the Star Wars universe have contributed to this peculiar inventory.

Our conclusion is clear: if we continue to accumulate material at the same rate, in the coming years we'll have to open a car boot sale, a Wallapop account, or even organise guided tours of the office.

And this is only the beginning

11 years on, we still have the same feeling as at the start: there's a lot to be done.

We've changed offices, services, clients, tools, and processes. We have made mistakes, celebrated successes, and learned a great deal along the way.

But if something remains the same, it's the excitement of building projects with people who want to leave their mark.

Thank you to all the people, clients, collaborators, and colleagues who have been part of these first 11 years.

See you in the next 11.
