Karmina launches new AI course for the media

At Karmina we believe that artificial intelligence is not just a technological tool, but an opportunity to rethink how we work, communicate and connect with people. That is why, from Utopiq -our area specialising in strategy, innovation and cultural change- we have promoted, together with the Association of Information and Communication Media (AMIC) y Clara Soteras, a pioneering training programme for newsrooms and professionals in the sector:
“AI for Media: Learning to optimise journalistic tasks”.

Practical, applied and humane training

The 27-hour, 9-session course is designed for journalists, editors and communication managers to learn how to integrate AI into their day-to-day work. Not as a threat, but as an ally that saves time, boosts creativity and improves efficiency.

Through case studies, real-life examples and personalised coaching, participants discover how AI can help them to write better, plan content, edit videos or manage social networks. But also how to do it in an ethical, responsible and transparent way, in line with our AI-Responsibility label, created to guarantee the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

The partnership that makes it possible

The programme is directed by Clara Soteras, She is the head of Innovation and Digital Strategy at AMIC, a university lecturer and a recognised expert in SEO and digital transformation. Her experience in media and her product vision have been key to create a rigorous, adapted and very practical training.

From Utopiq, under the direction of Ignasi Llorente, we have contributed our knowledge in ethics, responsibility and implementation of AI in public and private organisations, helping to define the methodologies and application frameworks. All this with the support of AMIC, which represents more than 600 local media in Catalonia and works for the innovation and sustainability of local journalism.

More than training: a cultural change

Integrating AI is not just about learning how to use tools, but about embracing a new cultural and organisational framework. This course aims to do just that: reduce the fear of change, build confidence and demonstrate that any newsroom - large or small - can harness the potential of AI without the need for technical expertise. The ultimate goal is to help the media focus on what really matters: telling stories better, with more impact and in less time, incorporating technology as a support, not as a substitute.

Continuing to transform through responsibility

At Karmina y Utopiq we remain committed to this transformation process, helping companies, institutions and media to implement meaningful, ethical and purposeful AI projects.
This course is an example: a shared initiative, with shared values, to promote a new way of understanding communication and journalism in times of artificial intelligence.
