New course «Low cost communication: from reason to storytelling» - How to make better campaigns with less resources

We believe that communicating well is not a privilege of those with big budgets, but a prerequisite for doing justice. That is why, together with Social.cat -a benchmark media in social action in Catalonia- we have promoted a pioneering training programme for entities, NGOs and third sector organisations:

«From reason to storytelling: how to run better campaigns with fewer resources».»

The course, of 12 hours distributed in 4 sessions, is designed for small teams that defend great causes to learn how to build stories with impact. It's not about having more resources, but about making better use of the resources they already have. It's not just about being right, but about knowing how to communicate it to bring about real change.

Through practical workshops, real cases and personalised support, participants will discover how to turn a cause into a concrete proposal, build community, design narratives that guide action and achieve tangible results. All this without relying on media, agencies or unaffordable budgets.

The programme is directed by Sílvia Díaz y Carles Foguet, consultants in strategic communication and social transformation with more than three decades of experience in public institutions, NGOs, political parties and the media. Together they have created the training «Communication for social change», taught in the master's degree in political and social communication at the Universitat Ramon Llull.

From complementary experiences - one more institutional and political, the other more social and community-based - they share the same conviction: that communicating well is essential to transform reality. And that right now we are losing the battle.

The 4R Methodology: a practical approach to social change

The course is based on the 4R methodology, The first of these is an adaptation of the principles of collective action frames, the dominant paradigm of social change theories and the basis on which the most influential movements and campaigns of the late 20th and early 21st centuries have been built.

The four dimensions that structure the course are:

  1. Reasonwhat we stand for and why
  2. Faceswho we are up against
  3. Storywhat and how we explain ourselves
  4. Resultwhat we want to achieve

This methodology translates complex academic concepts into a simple, replicable tool applicable to any entity, regardless of size or budget.

A different kind of course: intense, practical and with immediate impact.

Integrating strategic communication in social organisations is not only about learning new techniques, but also about adopting a method that allows us to do more with less, while maintaining coherence, enthusiasm and motivation to bring about the changes we advocate.

This course seeks to do just that: to provide social actors with resources to be more efficient with the few means at their disposal in the unequal struggle for the public narrative. The ultimate goal is to help entities focus on what really matters: communicate to transform, not just to inform.

Unlike academic masters that are too theoretical, business training courses that do not understand the third sector, or courses taught by people who are not familiar with the social reality, this proposal is:

  • Intense and intentional12 hours of training with useful and immediately activatable content.
  • Practical and theoretically sound: work on own cases and real examples
  • Based on experience: mistakes and lessons learned from years of work on the frontline
  • With personalised follow-up: attention adapted to the needs of each organisation
  • 100% online and bonusableaccessible from any location and with training credit available
